Abstrak

Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mencari jalan dan berupaya menemukan landasan konseptual penerapan program literasi ekonomi petai di daerah pedesaaan. Pokok persoalan yang mendasari tulisan karena lemahnya program penguatan literasi untuk petani, khususnya literasi ekonomi. Bahkan banyak program mengalami kegagalan atau berhenti di tengah jalan. Di samping itu, masalah petani terletak pada proses pasca panen hingga tata niaga. Hubungan petani dan pedagang dalam konteks tata niaga pertanian membawa petani pada keadaan yang tidak adil. Dominasi dan kekuasaan pedagang/tengkulak terlalu besar sehingga menyebabkan petani patuh dan tunduk pada kondisi yang ada. Kepatuhan petani pada sistem pasar yang dikendalikan pedagang/tengkulak terjadi karena ketidakpahaman petani pada pasar dan harga jual. Artikel ini adalah literatur review, beberapa artikel relevan dikaji secara seksama sehingga menghasilkan sintesis yang diyakini dapat memberi penjelasan memadai terkait literasi ekonomi. Adapun hasil kajian yang ditemukan diantaranya tentang perlunya memperhatikan paradigma pembangunan yang digunakan; perencanaan harus didasarkan pada kebutuhan dan sikap ikhlas petani; pelibatan aktor lokal secara penuh di dalam kegiatan; materi-materi program harus berorientasi pada realitas yang menghimpit petani; proses evaluasi perlu lebih demokratis dan kritis; seluruh aktor harus terlibat hingga proses  advokasi tingkat lanjut.
